About Pissed Jeans

As a working-class foursome from Allentown, Pennsylvania, Pissed Jeans vent their frustrations through a bludgeoning, midtempo grunge punk sound focused on sexual depression and factory-town hopelessness, all doused in a heavy coat of sarcasm and apathy. Delivering bruising guitar and drum pummeling while vocalist Matt Korvette vents his spleen on whatever is annoying him at the moment, the band started earning a reputation among fans of the noisier side of indie rock with the release of their first album, 2005's Shallow. It made enough of a splash that Sub Pop signed them for 2007's Hope for Men, and they continued their onslaught of bad karma on 2009's King of Jeans and 2013's Honeys. Not known for their work ethic, Pissed Jeans seemingly took a hiatus after 2017's Why Love Now, but they rallied to show they had failed to cheer up on 2024's Half Divorced.
