In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Outside of my experience in church, my earliest musical memory is being at home with my family. My mother is a musician and worked with my younger brother and me. I loved pretending to be members of The Five Heartbeats! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Donny Hathaway, Donny Hathaway Prince, Prince Whitney Houston, Whitney Houston I chose these three albums and artists because I feel most free when listening to their music. Whitney Houston's music always reminds me of good times with my mother. Prince helps bring out my inner rock princess. Donny Hathaway is Donny Hathaway! I've always loved stripped-down, acoustic production – so the piano really piqued my interest. Despite the song's title, it's a plea for total connection between two people. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? There are many, but my favorite was vocal coaching Kelly Morgan on Showtime At The Apollo for FOX. It was my first time visiting the iconic Apollo Theater, and it was a pretty cool experience for my team! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My bucket list includes working with Stevie Wonder, meditating with India.Arie, writing with Erykah Badu, and picking out headwraps with Chrisette Michele.
