About G.G. Anderson
G.G. Anderson looms large among the most successful German pop composers of the rock era, writing close to three dozen Top 40 hits for acts including Axel Becker, Mireille Mathieu, and Rex Gildo in addition to his own singing career. Born Gerd Günther Grabowski in Eschwege in 1949, he first pursued a career as an electrician, but after performing with the Blue Moons and Love and Tears, he began singing under the aliases Alexander Marco in 1973 and Tony Bell in 1977, but gained more recognition as a songwriter and producer than as a solo artist. However, in the mid-'80s he recorded a string of hits as G.G. Anderson, becoming a fixture on the German charts and earning fourth-place honors in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest. ~ Jason Ankeny
