I, the Mask

I, the Mask

The 13th album from melodic death-metal maestros In Flames is dedicated to their fans. On I, The Mask, the band consider their journey to date while balancing their sound between old-school and turn-of-the-millennium metal. They rage away like a Halloween bonfire with drumbeat blasts, red-throated growls and heavy guitar shredding as frontman Anders Fridén stretches his voice out across octaves. It’s a record of gnarly twists and turns. Album opener “Voices” lulls the listener into a false sense of security before leaping forward with noisy fury, while acoustic guitar adds a softer edge to "Follow Me” and "Stay with Me".
