Te Llevo En La Sangre

Te Llevo En La Sangre

Alejandro Fernández’s immense impact on Latin music affects multiple genres, his decades-long discography maintaining proud traditions as well as pushing the boundaries of Spanish-language pop. Much like his mariachi-focused Hecho En México from 2020, this full-length follow-up continues to celebrate música mexicana’s greatness and, by extension, his role within it. The dozen songs that make up Te Llevo En La Sangre come from songwriters including Edgar Barrera, Joss Favela and Eden Muñoz, among others, yet all retain the singer’s signature voice and its surrounding charms. True to form, he commands powerful ballads like the ranchera-style “No Es Que Me Quiera Ir” and “Difícil Tu Caso”. The few times he opts to bring in other singers yield some rather exceptional moments, first with Sonora’s own Alfredo Olivas on the devastatingly pointed “Cobijas Ajenas” and later with Brazilian star Anitta on the rousing closer “La Tóxica”.
