About Fire Trail

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was very young, around the age of five, my father gave me his old second generation iPod (he had just bought a new one). He showed me how to work it, and I became obsessed with his collection of the Beatles, Love and Rockets, & Eels. -Tohar What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Brian Eno, Here Come the Warm Jets Gong, Flying Teapot - Radio Gnome Invisible, Pt. 1 The Velvet Underground, Loaded (Remastered) I chose Gong since I grew up with it in the household – both of my parents were huge fans, and I adore the humor. Eno features heavily in my taste-making as a producer, and expanded my understanding of texture. The VU are the ultimate songwriters. -T Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Does Not Matter” I wrote an early version of 'Does Not Matter' for my band in LA, French Market Women, with my buddies Ethan and Erik. Once I got it to Fire Trail, I was able to enact upon it the full "Brian-Eno" production, which I'm so proud of. - Tohar What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing KALX Live! They were incredibly kind and helped engineer an energetic, electric session – our first time playing live over the air! We had played for crowds of ~100, but suddenly it felt so real. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We want to headline a venue in San Francisco! As Cal students, we have respect for independent venues like the Milk Bar, Rickshaw Stop, and Bottom of the Hill, and want to share our music with whoever we can. Not to mention, playing live rules!
