The bird is winsome singer and bassist Inara George. The bee is producer and keyboardist Greg Kurstin. Together, they combined gentle bossa nova and '60s-vintage easy listening sounds with modern electronica on their 2007 debut, featuring the intoxicating single "Again and Again." Later albums Ray Guns Are Not Just the Future and Interpreting the Masters, Vol. 1, a disc of Hall & Oates covers, upped the dance elements. Outside of the band, George embarked on a fruitful solo career while Kurstin worked with the likes of Katy Perry and Sia.
