Michal Hrůza found fame in the '90s as the frontman of Ready Kirken, the crew behind several Czech alt-rock classics—among them the infectiously bouncy radio hit, "1+1". But by the mid-'00s he was ready to follow his own path, building a sumptuous pop-rock backdrop for his poetic songwriting and contributing to several film and TV soundtracks. In his catalogue, romantic rock reverie gives way to piano-charged playfulness and lilting country flavours. On "Venuse", a duet with acclaimed pop singer Klara Vytiskova, he celebrates a new cosmic harmony in rolling, soft-spoken verses.
