Modern Skirts

About Modern Skirts

Athens, Georgia's the Modern Skirts play melodic indie pop with an emphasis not on jangle but on classic Lennon/McCartney-style song craft and melody. Led by Jay Gulley and JoJo Glidewell, both of whom contribute guitars and vocals, with Glidewell adding piano, backed by Phillip Brantley on bass and John Swint drums, the Modern Skirts formed in early 2004. After earning a name for themselves with shows at the legendary 40 Watt Club, the group released debut album CATALOGUE OF GENEROUS MEN in 2005. The self-issued ALL OF US IN OUR NIGHT followed in 2008.
