About Kristen Lee Sergeant

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Listening to my father's Jimi Hendrix CD at top volume out of the kitchen stereo while sitting on hot pavement in the driveway, listening to "Castles Made of Sand" -- intensity, heat, indolence. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Andy Shauf, Norm Benjamin Britten, Chorus of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Sir Peter Pears, Britten: Peter Grimes Steely Dan, The Royal Scam These three come to mind as favorites for me, right now, because they all have an exploratory vibe instrumentally and tell a story without being too rigidly plot driven. They are all on the odd, dark side, but have so much joy and release as well. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Birdsong (feat. Ted Nash)” This song is all about the perils of forsaking your voice, introduced and ended by a trio of voices that serve as a Greek chorus that warn of forgetting one's wildness. Complacency can cost one's freedom. Oh, and Ted Nash on soprano sax sounds great!
