About Glasvegas

Drawing musical inspiration from rockabilly, doo wop, and '50s and '60s pop/rock, Glasgow, Scotland-based indie rock quartet Glasvegas (a combination of Glasgow and Las Vegas) feature cousins James Allan (singer and principal songwriter) and Rab Allan (guitar), bassist Paul Donoghue, and drummer Caroline McKay. Glasvegas' 2007 "Daddy's Gone" single so impressed Lisa Marie Presley that she invited them to record material with her. Their second single, "It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry," arrived in 2008, and Glasvegas issued their eponymous Columbia Records debut soon thereafter, garnering a 2009 Mercury Prize nomination. The band's sophomore effort, 2011's Euphoric Heartbreak, was recorded at a beach house in Santa Monica, California, and underwent final production under the direction of acclaimed British producer Flood in London. ~ Katherine Fulton
