Estas Tonne

A versatile fingerstyle guitarist who plays in a range of styles, Estas Tonne describes himself as a modern day troubadour. Born in Soviet Ukraine, he grew up partly in Israel, but first found his calling performing as a New York street musician. Starting in the front half of the 2000s, Tonne began releasing instrumental guitar albums that wove between gypsy, flamenco, classical, jazz, and new age. He found an audience, both as a global touring artist and through original releases like 2011's Place of the Gods and 2013's Internal Flight. Though primarily known as a solo artist, Tonne has collaborated with musicians like percussionist Joseph Pepe Danza and violinists Michael Shulman and Sanya Kroitor. He has remained prolific into the 2020s, releasing numerous albums including 2025's Old Style, recorded live in the studio in a single take.
