Tye Tribbett Essentials

As long as he's glorifying God, Tye Tribbett cares little about musical boundaries. Though rooted in traditional gospel, his style can stretch everywhere from urban R&B to modern pop, big Broadway-style ballads and even a touch of funk and ska. Breaking out of New Jersey, Tribbett led his group G.A. (Greater Anointing) to victory in a number of choir contests. A track with Mary Mary on the Prince of Egypt soundtrack brought his first crossover success, and in 2000 he was invited to join Faith Hill on a national tour. Collaborations followed with Sting, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and even Justin Timberlake. 2010 brought Fresh, his first album without G.A., which got deeper into R&B without losing the divine inspiration.
