Equally inspired by the do-it-yourself energy of punk and the kitschy thrills of low-budget exploitation movies, the unhinged duo of bassist Lux Interior and guitarist Poison Ivy formed The Cramps in the late ‘70s and together they took the rhythms of '50s rockabilly and the riffs of '60s garage rock to a deranged new extreme. With their chaotically raw sound and trashy retro style, The Cramps helped to launch the psychobilly scene and on this wild collection, the band bashes out riotously abrasive and deliciously tongue-in-cheek anthems in praise of depravity.
