The Association Essentials

The Association Essentials

Some of the finest Californian pop singles of the '60s were recorded by The Association. Originally formed in '65, the group enjoyed a classy run of hits over the next three years including two U.S. chart toppers. Mixing the hip folk-rock sounds of the era with soaring vocal harmonies, they rivalled Harpers Bizarre, The Turtles and The Fifth Dimension as sunshine pop hitmakers and inspired the soft rock bands that followed in the '70s. It shouldn't be overlooked that the group also worked with two of the finest producers of the era, Curt Boettcher and Jerry Yester.
