Straight No Chaser Christmas Essentials

Straight No Chaser Christmas Essentials

The dormant university-formed a cappella collective Straight No Chaser reunited when a late-’90s video of their cheeky take on “The 12 Days of Christmas” went viral in the 2000s, so it’s no surprise that they’ve amassed a sizable catalogue of holiday music since reforming in 2008. The group’s seasonal release includes traditional carols like “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, which gets a jazzy reworking, and “O Holy Night”, which is given a doo-wop update, as well as vocal-forward covers of modern celebratory songs like Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and seasonally appropriate curveballs like Counting Crows’ “A Long December”.
