Cassia Eller Essentials

Cassia Eller made a name for herself with emotionally honest, anthemic songwriting. In the early ‘90s, she found herself censored by the government, but gained a loyal underground following for her frank approach to the subjects of sexuality and Brazilian society. Drawing on the emerging alternative rock scene in America, she paired her distinctive, husky vocals with elements of grunge, while always maintaining a Brazilian flavour—the influence of samba rhythms and melodies can often be found beneath layers of guitars and percussion.
