About Omi

Jamaican singer Omi owned the summer of 2015 with “Cheerleader”, a reggae-house fusion that blurred the line between the dance floor and the beach. • Legendary dancehall producer Clifton “Specialist” Dillon discovered Omi in 2012. He was impressed by the newcomer’s smooth, soulful delivery. • First released in 2012, Omi’s star-making single “Cheerleader” went global in 2015, thanks to a remix by German DJ Felix Jaehn. The remix went to No. 1 in more than a dozen countries, including the US and the UK. • Billboard named “Cheerleader” the official “song of the summer” of 2015. • “Cheerleader” surfaced again on Omi’s 2015 debut album, Me 4 U, which featured collaborations with Jamaican dancehall star Busy Signal and Swedish pop singer Erik Hassle.
