About Milo Greene

Los Angeles' Milo Greene are an effusive indie pop ensemble known for their hooky sound and penchant for sharing lead-vocal duties between each bandmember. Emerging in 2012, the band displayed their harmony-infused sound on the eponymous debut which hit number one on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. Although harmonies remain a focal point for the band, they've expanded their approach, delving into sophisticated, synth-accented pop as evidenced by 2018's Adult Contemporary. Formed in Northern California around 2009, Milo Greene originally featured vocalist/instrumentalist Marlana Sheetz, vocalist/instrumentalist Robbie Arnett, and vocalist/guitarist Andrew Heringer. Over the course of the next few years they recorded songs on Heringer's laptop, often working at homes of friends. After relocating to Los Angeles, the trio added singer/instrumentalist Graham Fink and percussionist Curtis Marrero. In 2012, they released their debut, Milo Greene, on Atlantic. It peaked at number one on the U.S. Billboard Heatseekers Albums and reached 115 on the Billboard 200. Three years later, they returned with their sophomore full-length, Control. A departure from their folky sound, it showcased a move toward a synth-accented approach, influenced by '80s-style new wave and R&B. Following the album's release, Heringer parted ways with the band. The equally sophisticated Adult Contemporary arrived in 2018 and included the single "Move." ~ Matt Collar
