GEORGE is a quartet founded and led by drummer/composer/arranger John Hollenbeck, with tenor saxophonist/flutist/composer Anna Webber, soprano saxophonist/composer Aurora Nealand, and keyboardist/vocalist/composer Chiquita Magic. Their sound weds mischievous modern composition to free and structured improvisation, combining post-bop, trad and electric jazz, futurist exotica, Latin and electro pop, and more. In January 2022, the quartet gathered in a Montreal recording studio (it was the first time they'd ever been in the same room together) and cut ten compositions. Letters to George, their debut album, was released on January 27, 2023.
