About Geezy Escobar

Adopting the trap stylings of his home base of Atlanta, Ohio-born rapper Geezy Escobar flips between speedy bars and melodic Auto-Tuned crooning. Falling somewhere between Future and Young Thug, Escobar emerged in the early 2010s before breaking in the late 2010s with "Cool" featuring DaBaby. Born in Akron, Escobar relocated to Georgia to pursue his rap career. Early underground releases included singles such as "Just Because" and "Shoot Out," while mixtape Fuck Da Cap, Vol. 1 arrived in 2017. The set featured the track "Moon Walkin" with frequent collaborator Juney Knotzz. A sequel landed the next year. Fuck Da Cap, Vol. 2 featured additional Knotzz duets, as well as "Pull Up" with T. Rollin'. In 2019, he scored a viral hit with "Cool" featuring DaBaby. The song landed on Section 8 Mind State, which also featured guests Mello Oowee ("Just Go"), Euro Gotit ("Colder"), Bri Biase ("Shake Sum"), and Knotzz ("Walkin Wit the Devil"). ~ Neil Z. Yeung
