Eleventh Dream Day

About Eleventh Dream Day

The career of noisy guitar combo Eleventh Dream Day was a textbook study in alt-rock endurance; despite a nightmarish major-label tenure, ill-timed roster changes, and commercial indifference, the group persevered to emerge as elder statesmen of the flourishing Chicago independent scene. Debuting in the late 1980s and still productive in the 2020s, EDD's thoughtful, chaotic fusion of wiry melodies and Neil Young-inspired guitar squawk was best heard on 1991's ragged but right Lived to Tell, 1997's raw and intimate Eighth, and 2006's muscular Zeroes and Ones.
