About Charlie Landsborough

Although Charlie Landsborough started his musical career back in the 1960s as part of the group the Chicago Sect, it wouldn't be until the mid-'90s that the country and folk musician would achieve unabashed success in the industry. Born in Birkenhead, England, in 1941, Charles Alexander Landsborough joined the Chicago Sect while in the army and stationed in Germany. Upon returning to England, he became a teacher, and wrote and performed his work when time and opportunity would allow. In 1994, all that was to change with the release of his touching single "What Colour Is the Wind?" A number one hit in Ireland and a big seller in England, Australia, and New Zealand, the single won Landsborough a recording deal, and he went on to record ten albums over the next ten-plus years, as well as winning the BMCA Best Male Vocalist Award three times. Under Blue Skies was released in 2008; the album was a Top 100 hit in the U.K. and managed to crack the Top 25 in Ireland. ~ Chris True
