Notep and Anya—the girls of rising electronic duo X0809—know their music well. Their influences include female artists like the Argentine indie-pop singer-songwriter Tei Shi and British singer/rapper M.I.A., who fuses her Sri Lankan roots into a pastiche of hip-hop, electro and grime—as well as American singer and songwriter Alina Baraz who's become known for her deep, downtempo electronica.
