Few singers have inspired the love and affection of music lovers across the world as Jagjit Singh. Starting out by singing advertising jingles and performing at weddings and parties, Singh was endowed with a fresh voice that gave him a head start in a ghazal world dominated by established names like Talat Mahmood, Ghulam Ali and Begum Akhtar in the 1970s.
