“Groove is everything.” According to Billboard sources, those were the last words of Dan Warner, the award-winning guitarist, songwriter and producer, who died right after playing at a bar in his native South Florida. Warner was a go-to collaborator for many Latin music stars, with credits including Marc Anthony, Maluma, Shakira and Ricky Martin; he won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album (for his work on Alejandro Sanz’s 2009 album Paraíso Express) and four Latin Grammys. But he also had notable work in the pop world and beyond, writing and recording with Madonna, Ziggy Marley and Lil Wayne.
