After playing too many disorganised showcases around Southern California, San Fernando Valley alt-rockers Liily had had enough and decided to change the game. Liily guitarist Sam De La Torre summed it up this way: “We played s****y festivals and wanted to make a better one.”
Mission accomplished. In January 2019, Liily took over The Echo nightclub in Los Angeles and curated a four-night music festival of up-and-coming artists that showed the diversity and talent of the region's underground rock scene. The video playlist CITY/VALLEY documents the event with sweaty live performances, backstage footage and interviews with Liily, Death Valley Girls, Plague Vendor, Starcrawler, Skating Polly, Superet and Deap Vally.
