Aof Pongsak is an exceptional pop figure. Stylishly dapper, in 2004 he caught the Thai people's attention with his earnest performance for the inaugural season of reality TV singing contest Academy Fantasia. He cemented his reputation as a sensitive interpreter of R&B songs with his debut in the musical Lom Haichai (The Breath), based on the impresario Boyd Kosiyabong's songbook. Together with Ben Chalatit, Aof is one of the few openly gay pop stars in Thailand, boldly bringing the discussion of sexual orientation to the forefront of the collective consciousness, with his music and music videos.
