About The Rubens

Formed in 2011, The Rubens is an Australian alt-rock band made up of three brothers and two friends, who took their name from brother Jethro’s nickname, Ruben. ∙ The band was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2013 ARIA Awards for their self-titled debut, which was certified Platinum in Australia. ∙ Due in part to its triple-Platinum title track, their sophomore release, 2015’s Hoops, peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Australian Albums chart. ∙ In one of the world’s biggest annual music competitions, “Hoops” was ranked No. 1 on Australian national radio network Triple J’s 2016 Hottest 100 list. ∙ They won their second APRA Award (Rock Work of the Year) in 2019, for “Never Ever,” their collaboration with pop star Sarah Aarons.
