About Ogden Nash
The famed author of children’s books and poetry Frederick Ogden Nash published his first book in 1925. Over the ensuing years he released 19 books, as his name became synonymous with the kind of funny but trenchant verse ("Candy/Is dandy/But liquor/Is quicker") that rolls easily off the tongue but reflects a serious and often wicked wit. In 1943 Nash collaborated with S.J. Perelman on the book and lyrics for the musical comedy, ONE TOUCH OF VENUS, with music composed by Kurt Weill. Among the songs was the enduring "Speak Low." Nash died in 1971.
