About Miro

Leading lights of the late UK 80s acoustic music revival, Miró reflected pastoral traditions with a string section, guitars and Nick Drake -influenced songs, composed by the leader, Roddie Harris (b. Roderick Harris, 1963, England; guitar/vocals). He was joined in the band by Julian Jackson (violin) and the Royal Northern College of Music trained Julia Palmer (cello/vocals). The press was fond of using phrases such as ‘Music for a Kensington bedsit’ to describe their appeal. The band released two EPs, Greetings From The Golborne Rd (1990) and The Divine (1994), and a number of albums on the independent label, Secret Heart, during the 90s.
