The son of celebrated Mexican soccer player Manuel Negrete, Manu Negrete chose show business over sports. Born in 1994, Negrete rose to fame in 2016 when he entered the fifth season of the popular talent contest La Voz México. Mentored by Alejandro Sanz, Negrete formed a duo with Lucho Aguilera but was eliminated at the semi-finals stage. Undeterred, in early 2017 the young singer made his solo debut with the Corazón Agridulce EP. Negrete is also a member of Help!, a Beatles cover band.
