About Dmytro Morykit
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a child, I had to play Fur Elise by Beethoven and Clair de Lune by Debussy, these pieces mesmerised me. In my teenage years, hearing Bowie on Top of the Pops and then the music of Ennio Moricone on film inspired me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? David Bowie, Space Oddity Genesis, Selling England By the Pound Kate Bush, The Kick Inside I bought and then played these albums many times. They seemed to encapsulate my time on this planet. The passion created by listening to these made me play them continually and I never tired of them. Their sounds were haunting. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Machu Picchu 2” I feel I captured the essence of Pablo Neruda's poem. I was fascinated by an ancient civilisation built above the clouds and what motivated them to build so high. This piece has musical vitatlity, celebrating the irresistable urge to survive. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing the Cinedome at the Green Man Festival. I didn't realise the dome was full and when I turned to take a bow, the audience inside and outside, stood up cheering, I was blown away. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I've played the Elgar Rooms at the Royal Albert Hall, still to play the main stage. Just maybe!
