Cairo Gold

Los Angeles' Cairo Gold is a passionate vocalist with a sound that balances swaggering electronic anthems with blues, hip-hop, and rock influences. Collaborating with the production duo of Eryk Rich and Chase Butters, Gold emerged in 2018 with the dramatic single "Torture." Prior to stepping into the spotlight, she spent several years as a successful weed dealer while living around Venice Beach. Although music was always a passion, it wasn't until 2012 that she first picked up the guitar. Hoping to work through her turmoil over a toxic relationship, she began writing songs. Over the next few years, she developed her emotive sound, drawing upon a wide array of influences from Amy Winehouse to 2Pac to Led Zeppelin. In 2018 she released the eponymous Cairo Gold EP, which featured "Torture." A trio of singles followed in 2019 including "Lie" and the UnotheActivist collaboration "New Type of Woman." ~ Matt Collar
