Piero Pelù Essentials

Hailing from Florence, Pietro “Piero” Pelù is one of Italy’s most recognisable rockers. Best known as the lead singer of ’80s heroes Litfiba, the ever-charismatic vocalist won hearts and minds during the two decades that he fronted the band, as they shifted effortlessly from new wave and punk to hard rock, melodic pop-rock and even subversive post-punk. From 2000, Pelù went solo and his distinctive vocals sharpened. Epic anthems such as 2008’s “Tutti Fenomeni” and his 2020 Sanremo Music Festival entry, “Gigante”, cemented his place at the top table of Italy’s rock royalty.
