Mostack Essentials

He's not quite grime, not quite Afrobeats, not quite dancehall—instead, this North London MC has been at the vanguard of a new wave of diasporic UK rap since his 2014 breakthrough. Mostack floats over the breezy, Caribbean-inspired “Let It Ring” and joins a murderer's row of innovative rappers on Steel Banglez' steel-drum-heavy “Bad”. And on the cheeky “What I Wanna”, he takes a sampling note from Big Pun's book and shows off his sense of humour: “I'm a hustler, I thought you knew that/I could sell a Biggie Smalls album to Tupac!”
