Molly Tuttle Essentials

With her nimble-fingered acoustic chops, Molly Tuttle paints evocative portraits of modern American life. Born in 1993, in Santa Clara, California, the singer-songwriter, guitarist and banjoist gracefully shuffles between modern folk, Americana and the bluegrass she grew up playing with her father and siblings. Performing in various bluegrass groups, she built up a reputation as a picking powerhouse, even winning Instrumentalist of the Year at the 2018 Americana Music Awards. But she approaches words with just as much eloquence—and a silvery vocal delivery—whether she’s crafting intimate confessionals as a solo artist or vivid fiddle tunes and earthy Americana tales alongside her band Golden Highway and star collaborators like Billy Strings and Dave Matthews. Singing about feminism, pot farms and the great open road, Tuttle honours traditional sounds by giving them a fierce, fresh edge.
