About Vandal

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memories as a child are of my father playing his vinyl records to help me sleep at night and watching him play guitar, piano, and clarinet. He and the music collection he surrounded himself with were my first musical influences. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? OutKast, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik Various Artists, Above the Rim Soundtrack from the Motion Picture Wu-Tang Clan, Wu-Tang Forever 2Pac made me want to rap. Dr. Dre's influence from Death Row to Aftermath shapes most of my production choices. Inspectah Deck and Outkast greatly influence how I put my raps together. Nas, DMX, and Mobb Deep also greatly influence my music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Pick Ya Poison” This opening song sets the tone for the "Pick Ya Poison" anthology. The "Pick Ya Poison" anthology uses escapism, nihilism, consumerism, and violence to offset traumatic experiences. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The best moment for me was gathering several producers that contributed to the success of artists under Dr. Dre's labels. It's like I released an album on Aftermath Records and worked with everyone except Dr. Dre. The music feels that good. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to work with Dr. Dre, DJ Premier, RZA, Havoc, Organized Noize, and Timbaland. In the near future, my wish is to record an album entirely produced by Nottz.
