Going to jazz clubs in Los Angeles, listening to the guitarists who recorded all of the fantastic albums I had studied and hearing their music and sound in person for the first time. To be in the same room as those sounds made it all the more real. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jimmy Cobb, John Webber, Peter Bernstein, Richard Wyands, Peter Bernstein Quartet - Live At Smalls Wes Montgomery, The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery Keepnews Collection A tour-de-force of jazz guitar, it is technical while still being expressive. Wes could communicate through his guitar the entire range of emotions in the human experience. Peter Bernstein and Jim Hall embody that same tradition. Brett Belanger, Quentin Baxter & Randy Napoleon)” I love this song because it encapsulates the joy, groove, and dance found in jazz music, the interaction and communication between musicians. It is respectful to the tradition while existing in the present.
