About The Veronicas

With an ever-evolving sound encompassing pop-punk to dance music, Australian sister duo The Veronicas have been superstars in their home country since they came on the scene in the mid-2010s. • Identical twins Lisa and Jessica Origlasso grew up in Brisbane and began writing songs when they were 14. By 19, they’d signed a production deal and traveled to Sweden, the US and the UK to collaborate with top songwriters. • The duo’s name was inspired by a scene in 1989 cult film Heathers. • Their 2005 debut album, The Secret Life Of…, yielded three Top 10 singles in Australia, including the No. 2 smash “4ever”, written and produced by hitmakers Max Martin and Dr. Luke. • The Veronicas’ 2007 sophomore effort, Hook Me Up, includes their first US single, “Untouched”, which cracked the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. In Australia, the LP spawned four Top 10 singles, including the No. 1 hit “Hook Me Up”. • After a long hiatus brought about by disputes with Warner Bros., The Veronicas switched to Sony and released their self-titled third album in 2014. Lead single “You Ruin Me” became the duo’s second No. 1 hit in Australia. • The Veronicas notched a third Aussie chart-topper with 2016’s dance-pop earworm “In My Blood”. • In 2019, The Veronicas starred in the MTV Australia reality series The Veronicas: Blood Is For Life.
