A collaboration between Eastern Algonquin powwow group Eastern Medicine Singers and experimental rock guitarist/producer Yonatan Gat, Medicine Singers fuse avant-jazz, edgy post-punk, and electronic sounds with powwow drums and singing. This uncommon combination grew from a spontaneous group performance into an avant-garde supergroup of sorts, with key figures in experimental jazz, ambient, and other fringe genres making contributions to the project's self-titled 2022 debut full-length.
