In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. YOITSMALAKI started making music at the age of 14 years old playing drums,guitar, and piano. Which led him to form his first band Blackbox Benefits from 2003 - 2007. Later he became the second front man of the metal band It Starts With Alaska. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Coldplay, Parachutes Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Underoath, They're Only Chasing Safety These three albums helped define me as a person and kept me thinking outside the box while growing older into my adulthood. They helped shape me and taught me great music resonates throughout time. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Irresistable” Irresistible became one of my favorite songs to have written and showed me that my writing can come from a real place. I learned to sing and rap while producing on my own. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? While performing with It Starts With Alaska we were able to win a spot to perform on 2011 Vans Warped Tour in Mountain View, Ca on the Ernie Ball Stage. Alongside acts such as A Skylit Drive, There For Tomorrow and many other bands. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The future looks bright as my art continues to improve. I intend to write more albums and deliver more music videos in hopes to land bigger shows with newer fans to come with it.
