With his gutsy lead vocals and solid rhythm guitar playing, Jimmy Dale (born: Jimmy Dale Richardson) created some of the most exciting music to emanate from Oklahoma City during the late '90s. Joined by ex-Poison Okies guitarist/pedal steel player Kevin Wright, drummer/percussionist Derek Dugger, and upright bassist Casey Friedman, Dale brought new life to the classic and obscure rockabilly, honky tonk, Western swing, early country and hillbilly bop tunes of Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent, and Elvis Presley. Dale, who first worked with Dugger and Wright when he would sit-in with the Poison Okies, invited them to accompany him on a studio project. The sessions proved so enjoyable that they agreed to start a band. Although a coin toss resulted in the band assuming Dale's name, it remained very much a group effort. Dugger and Wright returned to their former positions when the Poison Okies reunited in 2001. ~ Craig Harris
