About Elsie Randolph
A skilled dancer, comedienne, and singer, Elsie Randolph’s name is indelibly associated with actor/director Jack Buchanan's. Buchanan offered her plum roles his early-1920s British musicals--the beginning of a musical comedy partnership that lasted 20 years. The pair traded wisecracks and dance routines in highly successful shows and four films throughout the 1930s, after which Randolph retired. Buchanan died in the mid-'50s, but Randolph continued to appear in provincial theater for some years, and made a late comeback to films before retiring again until her death in 1982.
