Burton Lane

About Burton Lane

A distinguished composer for films and the stage, Burton Lane is probably best known for his Broadway show FINIAN’S RAINBOW (1947). Written in collaboration with ‘Yip’ Harburg, the hit show included the evergreen songs "Old Devil Moon," "How Are Things In Glocca Morra?", and "If This Isn’t Love." Lane also contributed songs to dozens of Hollywood films during the 40s, most notably the tunes "The Lady’s In Love With You" (with Frank Loesser) from the film SOME LIKE IT HOT, and "How About You?" from BABES ON BROADWAY (1940). In the early 1990s, Michael Feinstein recorded two albums of Lane songs accompanied by the composer himself on the piano.
