supercell Essentials

Japanese dōjin music collective supercell formed in 2007 and quickly became known for both music and art, their 11 members also producing work for a plethora of TV shows. Led by musician and songwriter Ryo, this energizing brand of J-Pop leans into the heavier side of the genre, weaving bright vocals and sentimental lyrics through crushing guitar riffs and massive hooks. Celebrated single "My Dearest"—the first of five with vocalist Koeda—features rippling piano arpeggios with orchestral strings and percussion, while chunky chords build to a thrilling, thrashing crescendo in hit "The Bravery".
