Elissa rocketed to stardom with her 1999 debut Baddy Doub, as her subtle, beautiful melodies breathed new life into Arabic folk, Latin and pop-inspired tunes. Her romantic style is imbued with the work of fellow Lebanese artists such as Myriam Fares and Marwan Khoury, as well as those from further afield.
