Jason Hainsworth is SFCM's Executive Director, Roots, Jazz, and American Music as well as the school's Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. His 2016 album Third Ward Stories was a Downbeat Magazine editor's pick, and while maintaining a regular schedule of gigging around San Francisco, he's working on a new big band album of his compositions and arrangements. For his playlist commemorating Martin Luther King Jr., he chose a wide range of artists who are connected to or inspired by Dr. King's work and legacy.
