Splicing beatboxed rhythms with insouciant rapping and singing, 5'nizza draw upon soul, reggae and hip-hop inspirations to create their own breezy sound. 5'nizza—whose name means “Friday” in Russian—consist of guitarist Sergey Babkin and singer Andrey “Sun” Zaporozhets. Their breakthrough came with 2002's heavily bootlegged demo, Unplugged, and although they've only released two LPs since then, in 2003 and 2005, this collection of slow burners shows how 5nizza's minimalist sound turned out to be years ahead of its time.
