Pianist Zlata Chochieva was a student of Mikhail Pletnev and specializes in the music of Chopin and Rachmaninov. Chochieva is a modern-day representative of the grand Russian school. At eight, she played a Mozart concerto in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. In 2012, Chochieva made her debut on the Piano Classics label, releasing an album featuring Rachmaninov's Chopin Variations, Op. 22, and Piano Sonata No. 1 in D minor, Op. 28. In 2021, she released (Re)Creations, an album of transcriptions. She was signed to Naïve and released her debut album there, Chiaroscuro, in 2022, following that up with Im Freien in 2023.
